PC fails to boot after no significant change

So I was just playing a game when I realised my PC thought it only had 4gb of ram installed when really there is 2x 4gb which I have used in previous builds and works.

So I turn my PC off and reinstall the ram. When I try and reboot the PC, all the parts are supplied with power and it turns on but nothing boots up on screen, leaving only a red Led on the DIMM compatibility on my motherboard.

Why has something failed to do with ram when Ivee used these sticks before and definitely work together? I literally just took them out and put them back in and now it doesn't work!

Solution
Don't worry, that happens often, there have even been mobos released that had rather overly tight DRAM slots where people were constantly reporting non stop boot loops because it took so much pressure to fully seat the DRAM, was a big rigamarole with MSI P67 mobo lines a few years back - and they would never admit it ;)
