I partitioned my WD passport Ultra in error when trying to get it to show in file manager.. Since upgrading to windows 10 it doesn't show up now. I can see the area of disk which has all my files stored by I cannot access them. I have followed all instructions in disk management but the drive is not listed by name only with a picture and there are 4 of these plus the volume I created in error. How can I get this working again as I have all my important files on here and unable to get into it. Please advise. Thank you.

Hi there Debz__,

That is really unpleasant. :(

The fact that the drive is not recognized after the OS upgrade, is most probably related to the drivers but not the HDD.

Partitioning and formatting could be data destructive, so some of your data may be lost.

I just want to start with that, in case the data is crucial, you will need to contact a data recovery company. You can check WD's Data Recovery partners out: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=vX48Bl

How does the drive appear under Disk Management? It would be of help, in case you provide a screenshot.

Apart from that, you can start with just attaching the drive to another system, that is not on Win 10.
In case the issue persists, you can use some data recovery tool and...

In case the issue persists, you can use some data recovery tool and see if you will be able to recover the data: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1644496/lost-data-recovery.html

Let me know how this goes,
