Arg! Rig won't boot, only a black silent screen of nothing :(

Ok, here's the thing: I moved my computer from one room to another (silly me). Everything was working perfectly, but when I try to boot it up in the new room - nothing. Just nothing. Only a black screen. The PSU works, the CPU cooler works, the GPU seems to work but I'm not sure though. I did try the onboard GPU, just to check - no difference.

Thing's I've done:

Made sure every cable was correct installed.
Switched between a number of HDMI-cables.
Made sure the monitor works.
Removed every single cable and put it back together.
Reset the little battery-thingy on the MB.

Nothing works :( Any ideas?

Oh dear, the GPU works fine. Just put it into another rig in the house. Took the other one and used it. Still nothing :O

The most basic tricks to try after getting no video issues and no BIOS beeps, are to reset the BIOS, reset the RAM modules... and if still getting nothing on the display, next test all RAM modules for possible damage. Don't forget to frequently discharge yourself out of Electrostatic discharge on the computer case

You can tell if the GPU is working if the display changes black pitch seconds after powering up the computer. If the motherboard has failed, there may or not be a change in black pitch on the display.

If the monitor is not getting a signal they usually show a message saying "No signal", "Sleep Mode", etc.
If you're getting a monitor message, the GPU or motherboard may have failed or the video cable may be bad.

A) Checking RAM installation:
1. Check if all RAM modules are fully seated on the slots

B) Checking RAM for bad module/s:
1. Remove all RAM modules and try each one on every slot, trying the computer each time you move each module to each slot.

C: Reset the BIOS.
You have already done that but sometimes a longer reset period is necessary.
1. Remove the AC power cable
2. Remove the battery
3. Move the BIOS jumper from pins 1 and 2, to pins 2 and 3
4. Press the front panel power button and hold it pressed for 30 secs to a minute
5. Wait an hour.. (usually 5 to 10 minutes is recommended but for persistent issues more time is necessary).
6. Move the BIOS jumper back to pins 1 and 2
7. Reinstall the battery
8. Connect AC cable
9. Start the computer.

If still getting nothing... another BIOS reset may be necessary to rule out motherboard damage. Follow the same procedure but allow it to reset overnight... after that and RAM is thoroughly checked, the most likely cause is motherboard damage.

But how could this be? I didn't do anything. Really - not a single thing :( Just moved it, very carefully, into another room. Shesh, it's like a spoiled princess.

Yes, I know but that's a proven fact... I've read hundreds of similar issues and have experienced it several times.. Motherboards can even be working perfectly one night, and nothing the next morning you turn it on.

But don't give up just yet... do every one of the suggestions up to the overnight BIOS reset, and watch for monitor activity in dark pitch changes, flickering and color changing leds, fan speeds, and BIOS beeps.

Lol, you know what happened? I turned it off and went to bed. Got up and now it works :O

I swear to God, gaming rigs are skizo. No wonder less patient / less crazy people choose consoles :D

Sorry for the late reply. And yes, it works again without me doing anything other than turning it off (again) and letting it get a good nights sleep. Lol, crazy much?
