Hello,

I've been torn as to what I should upgrade first for the best price/performance ratio.

Currently running:
i7 4790k @ 4 Ghz
500 GB Samsung EVO SSD
12 GB DDR3 Trident 2400 Mhz
Windows 10
750W Corsair TX
GTX 970 EVGA ACX 2.0
2K Asus Monitor 60 Hz

I dont know what would give me the biggest performance boost, upgrading to a gtx 1070 with my current monitor locked at 60 hz @ 2560 x 1440p, or upgrading to a 2K DELL 144 Hz monitor (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0149QBOF0/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A38N0WJNNQJ3KN) and keeping my current GTX 970? If i had to choose which should I do first and why? Thanks!

While the RX 480 is going to be the new king of price/performance for midrange, an overclocked GTX 970 will not be too far off from the RX 480 performance. I'm buying an RX 480 because I'm coming from a GTX 770..... But for someone who owns a 970 you would probably want to get a 1070 when the aftermarket supply increases and helps the price come down to the $380ish it's supposed to be. Or if you can wait till end of year the AMD Vega /1080ti's should come out and lower prices on the current high ends. I know nothing of monitors so will not add anything on that (still using an asus 1080p).
