I currently have an i7-4790S running @ 3.2 GHz with four cores. Now I'm thinking of going to the FX-8370 which runs @ 4.0 GHz with eight cores but many have said that this is a downgrade even though it runs .8 GHz faster than the i7 and has four more cores. I'd like to know why this is the case and also what to look for in CPUs so I can better determine a good CPU for my needs.
