On CPU-Z it says that my processor is only a 4 core/4threads where it should be an 8 core processor. I have googled pictures of other cpu-z tabs with the same processor but they all show 8 core/ 8 threads. http:// . Also when I benchmark on heaven benchmark at the end when the score is displayed it states that my processor is only x3 instead of what should be x4. http:// . My motherboard is the Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2 and yes it is compatible with the FX-8300

What BIOS version are you running? According to the CPU support list, you need to be on at least version F6.

Also, is there a "core unlock" feature in the BIOS? You may need to turn it OFF in order for the CPU tor work properly. (On my old ASUS M4N98TD-EVO, I accidentally pressed the core unlocker hotkey on one occasion with a Phenom II X6 CPU and it limited it to 4 cores (it's intended for unlocking up to 4 cores on a dual- or triple-core processor).

I am currently running F5 so I will be updating to F6 right now, thanks!!!!
Update: I updated to F6 but CPU-Z still reads only 4 cores and 4 threads, but Heaven Benchmark reads the processors x4 as it should.
