Do I get a Quadro k2200 or the gtx 980 strix OC vs gtx 990 vs 1080 geforce founders edition for rendering in blender?

Will primarily be doing blender with rendering focusing on millions of polygons/real time rendering.

Will also be using Maya but only secondary to blender.

Is it true that maya wopuld be slightly more optimized to the quadro k2200 because of open gl?

Would 32gb ram have that much more difference over a 16gb?

I plan to get a 5820k or a 6800k cpu (can't afford 5930k and dont plan on multiple cpu's)

Lastly what would a good mobo be for the above cpu's - I won't be overclocking and don't know if the x99 is worth buying.

Sorry mate i meant to write 9xx

I am unsure whether I should put my money in an expensive 6gb 680x strix or a 8gb 1080 gpu or if it would be better lowering to a gtx 970 and getting a 5930k instead of a 5820k.

Same applies (best geforce you can afford), but no the 5930k isnt worth the extra over the 5820k in terms of value, the extra lanes are unlikely to be needed (28 is still plenty for sli and nvme etc), you can overclock to the same speed easy.

Just a heads up, this is the best source if you consider GPU rendering in Blender Cycles:

http://blenchmark.com/gpu-benchmarks

I use it any time I consider upgrading or putting a new system together.
