How to connect the monitor to my alienware 13 laptop(It has HDMI port and mini display port)

The monitor will come with a vga cable . Can you me any other link of any cheap adapter with which i can connect it to my laptop

The cheapest option is a dvi-d to hdmi cable. Using vga will require an active converter and will cost alot more.
