If this is the case, then I would say that WD Purple may not be the be best pick for a gaming drive.
WD Purple is designed to be used in security systems.
WD Blue should do the job. My suggestion would be to pick a model that is up to 1 TB, as those models feature 7200 RPM.
Another drive you can consider is WD Black. It is a performance oriented, premium product with 5 years of limited warranty. Also, it features a dual core processor for better multitasking.
