Hi,

I want to upgrade from a GTX970 to a GTX1080 and I was wondering if the Alienware Aurora R4 power supply is able to handle the load of a GTX1080, I read something on other forums about it having a 875w split rail power supply and i was wondering if this would be an issue if I were to upgrade from a GTX970 to a GTX1080.

Sincerely,

Hello Ryan,

I need help. I have an Alienware Aurora R4 as well and it came with a GTX 680. I want to upgrade to a 970 like you have, but everytime I hook it up and boot the computer, I get the beeps that indicate errors. Since my computer works fine after I reinstall my GTX 680, I can only assume that it is the new card I am putting in. Thanks and sorry that I couldn't help answer your question. I figured you might know since you have the same computer as I do.

Have you tried to start the computer with all the USB stuff like the mouse and keyboard removed ?
I had the same problem once, turned out to be a problem with the driver from my mouse.
