I am looking to get another 144hz g-sync monitor but i only have 1 display port on the back of my GTX 970 strix card.

The second monitor will not work though any other connection, and the only reason i am getting it as it very cheap (used).

Would I be able to split the display port with a adaptor suggestions would be useful and i have linked below one that I thought might work.

Thanks

If you split it, it will just duplicate the image. That one display port will only transmit one image. You could try an adapter that goes from HDMI to Displayport, etc. but you won't get the gsync without an actual DP cable. And I'm not sure how that would affect refresh rates.
