So I noticed on an eBay listing that the seller had noted some slight CPU pin pad discolouration on the bottom of the CPU. It doesn't appear to be dark or burnt, it's more of an area with a lighter tone than the rest of the pins. Would this affect overclocking at all?

Solution
Not knowing exactly what you are seeing, I would be inclined to say no. Most CPU's undersides are mottled a bit in color. Especially once they have been heated from use. Even some new ones.

That's not exactly what I was expecting. It is hard to make out in that tiny picture, but it appears to be something was spilled on the pin side of the chip. I don't know what that is. Have you run the cpu under s stress test yet?

It was an eBay listing and the seller said that it was pulled from a working gaming PC. Anyways, I didn't win the auction so no worries. Thanks for your help though.
