Hoping to upgrade my mini PC...help??

Hey guys I was wondering if my PC which has a core 2 duo, LGA 755 would support a core 2 quad or extreme same socket but I tried on my laptop and it wouldn't boot so I'm trying it on my shop PC for some better performance

Laptop motherboards use different sockets than the ones on desktop motherboards, so they won't be compatible with desktop chips. But since your Core 2 Duo desktop uses the same LGA 775 socket, the Core 2 Quad should work with your desktop.
