I have an Intel Core i7 4790K and I've noticed the temperatures are running extremely hot under load. At idle it runs at 35C but under Prime95 small FFT load it shoots up to high 80s and even in the 90s. I've tried reapplying thermal paste on my H100i but no luck. About a month later I tried again and still nothing. Finally decided to go out and buy a new cooler, H115i, to see if that fixed the issue and, big surprise, same issue. Is there anything else I could try? Room temps are around 22 to 24 Celsius.

Solution
Many prime versions give unrealistic load levels using specific instruction sets that give off lots of heat that can't be replicated under regular operation
