Hi, I want to get a gaming PC for my son and everyone says that it's best to build your own so that's what I'm trying to do. I'm a little out of my depth though so I'd appreciate any advice you have to give.

Here's the components:

PROCESSOR: AMD FX 4350 4.2GHz Quad Core Processor

MOTHERBOARD: ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 ATX

RAM: 16GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3-1600 Ram

HARD DRIVE: 1TB Hard Drive 7200RPM

GRAPHICS: NVIDIA GTX 750Ti 2GB

POWER SUPPLY: 500W Power Supply

How do you think this build would play newer games like Fallout 4 and Doom? My son loves first person shooters but can't play them very well on his laptop.

Solution
not great to be honest.

-8gb is plenty of ram for a lower budget gaming build.
-the r7 360 has better performance, is much newer and costs less than the 750 ti. neither card is particularly idel for 1080p gaming though. i'd recommend at least a gtx 950 4gb if you can afford it. i put the r7 360 for now since it's a good deal. i bought one this week.
-an i3 would be ideal. the fx series is pretty out of date at this point.
