PC New Build Help
First time self build but I figure why not save myself some money but im kind of nervous about the whole process. It will be mainly used for 3d and VFX work but also for gaming and possibly streaming. I have an old XPS case also but I was told it cant be used as dells stuff is custom? I have no idea where to buy parts etc so any advice would be much appreciated.

Thats what I have so far but I am wondering about the case and fitting the graphics card. And the processor and would it be worth going for an i7?

Thanks in advance

GTX 1070 & GTX 1080 prices are still fluctuating.

*edit*
DDR4-2133 instead of DDR4-3200

Autodesk AutoCAD, 3Ds Max, and Maya are all primarily single threaded. Unless you are going to be doing significant streaming, I think you will be best served by an Intel 6700K. The faster RAM and non-Quadro GPU are to support your gaming.

No, that case does not have 5.25 inch bay. Of course, we chose it because you did. Here are some other cases to consider:

http://de.pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/corsair-case-200r,fractal-design-case-fdcadefr4bl,fractal-design-case-fdcadefr5bk,phanteks-case-phes515pbk/

The 1080 will be better for gaming than the 1070, but probably won't make much difference in your CAD programs. I would expect the prices of these cards to come down some as their newness wears off and more 3rd party cards become available. Some of the gamers here can comment, but I would expect that you wouldn't see much difference between the two cards unless you are gaming at 4K or higher.

Hi

If I wanted to go for 32g of Ram would this work? I looked at the site but to honest the chipset filter drop down menu on the RAM configuration search engine thing is confusing for me

G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-2800 Memory

Also can you recommend an alternative to the CPU cooler as the CPU Cooler: CRYORIG H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler (€39.90 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Seems to be out of stock everywhere I look.

Thanks

That RAM would probably work, but hasn't been tested by g. Skill in the Asus Pro-Gaming MB. These 4 x 8GB 1.25V modules have been tested in your MB:

[Ripjaws V] F4-2800C15Q-32GVR

[Ripjaws V] F4-2800C15Q-32GVRB

It's the same link as previously. There are 3 sections. The top one says Asus. The bottom one says Pro-Gaming.The 16GB modules came out after the 8GB modules, so more testing has been done with the 8 GB. I didn't check the Asus site under support for the Pro Gaming to see what they tested.

This Noctua cooler would be nice:

PCPartPicker says it fits, but double check at the www.noctua.at site under the cooler compatibility lists:

For gaming? No need. I would put that money elsewhere - either graphics or PSU. I'm not sure about reusing that PSU, I would probably buy new if I were you, especially if you plan on using a top of the line GPU like a GTX 1070. Though I wouldn't touch any CPU cooler made by Arctic Cooling with a 10 foot pole. What country are you from and where do you plan to buy?
