I should upgrade to windows 10 from windows 8.1?

Hello guys,i'd like to ask if it would worth to upgrade from windows 8.1 to windows 10.Last year I've heard that it has severe privacy issues and it could serve as a great way for hackers to "sneak" into your personal computer.Also,i've heard that Microsoft can delete pirated content without your desire.I would like to know if windows 10 it's just better than windows 8.1 in terms of performance,if these 2 operating systems have similar security vulnerabilities,and if those privacy problems can be solved in a way or another in order to assure myself that I'm safe on my own terminal.

1. Privacy. Most of the 'privacy' outrage sprouted from the original Tech Preview.
2. Whatever is in the current release of Win 10 is also backported to Win 8.1 and 7.
3. Windows, of whatever flavor, is far less privacy intrusive then your ISP, Google, and your cellphone provider
4. Performance? Very similar between 8.1 and 10.
5. Moving forward? DirectX 12

per pirated content. That only applies to their app store (as is the same of every app store). They do not care what BS you have installed on your computer otherwise.

I personally would prefer Windows 8.1 currently because with Windows 10, they can collect a lot of info about you
And there could still be some bugs, for example, sometimes the Windows start menu button could freeze and it won't open
