Internet has been slowed down after new router

Our old router from ATT was fine and the speeds were slow but thats normal for our plan but it was turning off every couple ours for like 8 hours. So we got them to come down and they put a new one in saying ours was dying out. Now the speeds are slower, not strictly download speeds but ping is much higher going from 30-70 to 100-240 all the time. Its always stayed around 7mbs.

Where/what are pinging? Do you know how to use tracert and pingpath? Give them a try to help determine where the problem may be.

Check all the physical cable connections. Tech may not have gotten them all in correctly.

Or maybe the new router came with a defective cable......

In any case, start calling AT&T again. Get it on the record that service has not been fully restored.
