Hi all, so I am looking to upgrade to a new Processor but that means Im going to make the switch from an AMD MOBO to an Intel one. Now, my graphics card is an AM3+ so I need an AM3+ motherboard to go with it. I have a motherboard selected that fits my budget just barely but I just need somebody to double check this for me. So I have a GTX 950 FTW, I will 2 sticks of 8 Gigs of RAM, a 500w PSU, the processor Im getting will be in this link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=2MN-0004-00002&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Processors+-+Desktops-_-2MN-0004-00002&gclid=Cj0KEQjwnIm7BRDSs42KxLS8-6YBEiQAfDWP6Lj-xDYrHnk2dfewygqYllryHT6Qca4IFF2qNGnTvEgaAl4F8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds and then the MOBO that I want to go with it is in this link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128881&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= All I need to know is that all these parts will be compatible together. Thank you all for your help.

Firstly, your graphics card is not an AM3+. AM3+ is the CPU socket, and has nothing to do with the graphics card. At least nothing relevant outside of technical jargon.

Second, you need to get DDR4 ram for that Mobo / CPU. AMD still only uses DDR3, so you can't use your current RAM.

After that, yes everything will work together.

Hm, okay. Can i use DDR3 with a different MOBO then? Or is DDR3 only for AMD use?

Honestly, I'd just get new RAM, just one 8gb stick is pretty cheap and still enough for most people. But there are some Mobos compatible with that CPU that can use very specific DDR3 RAM. Do you know the exact brand and model of your RAM?
