Is the Corsair H80 sufficient for i7 6700k overclocking?

I have just purchased a new skylake i7 6700k processor with an Asus maximus VIII Hero motherboard and am using cooler masters HAF X case.

I have an old Corsair H80 cooler which I used with my i7 2600k and I am wondering if it is compatible with the 1151 socket. Also is the H80 sufficient when overclocking the skylake processor or should I consider an upgrade?

Yes, it's compatible with 1151 socket.
Depends, what overclock you intend to get. I think you should be fine with like a 0.5 Ghz overclock

I haven't fully decided yet but I was considering somewhere between 4.5 - 4.8 ghz.

4.3GHz gets me 70°C on a 3570k on a h55. P95v26.6. Skylake cpus run cooler, and the h80 is considerably stronger in cooling ability, pretty much close to the h100i. A decent OC shouldn't be a problem.

I currently have my i7 2600k overclocked to 4.6 Ghz and the H80 holds the core temperatures under 50°C but I was unsure how it would handle the skylake processor. Good to know they run cooler!

For info: The H80 fits and works perfectly with the i7 6700k skylake processor. I have overclocked it to 4.5GHz and it holds the core temperatures under 50°C.
