Hello Guys
So I bought this PC like 6-7 months back and I only use it to play Dota 2, the problem is this pc gets so slow during game that I can't even switch to desktop and most of the time I end up restarting PC by holding power button for 6 secs!! On top of that when I do so my PC takes almost 10-15 mins to get back into the game due to load times and PC boot time being so long !
I have disabled all the start up programs, done with malwarebytes scan and did clean windows install but I have same issues every time I 've monitored Temps for both CPU and GPU they are normal.
HELP PLEASE !

CPU: Core i5 4690K
MOBO: MSI Z97 PC Mate
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB
GFX: XFX Core HD 7770
PSU: Coolermaster 450W
STORAGE: Seagate 160GB 7200 RPM
OS: Windows 10 Pro

Also my DISK USAGE SPIKES to 100% RANDOMLY

Solution

try and fix the HDD, with tools/methods that we have mentioned. it is most likely the HDD thats causing your system to run real slow.

Hello xcarnation,
The specs are great, but the psu is not that impressive, neither ram.
You must have a minimum of 600w psu for those specs, And at least 8gb of ram. But, it sound like you have an overheating issue. Have you got any fans installed in the case? Is the gpu fan working correctly?
Best regards,
Tom

when you first started playing with your system how did it perform? and when did this issue start to happen?, things i can think of are, PSU problem which CM PSU model do you have? it might be the issue.

2nd you might have an almost filled up hardrive, also possible your HDD is dying. things you can try out, open your resource monitor and see which processes pushes your drive to 100% and also try using HD Tune Pro (http://www.hdtune.com/) to check out some issues with your drive, im no drive expert though but you can google it and lots of forum post would pop up and that would help you diagnose your HDD.

lastly did you overclock any of your components? if so try switching back to default settings see if its any good. also try to update on latest drivers and see if it still persists.

edit 1: i didnt notice the 450 Watt. and yep it wont be enough. especially if you overclocked your components. get a better PSU EVGA 500/550 Watt PSUs are good even corsair.

Actually This is new PSU as OLD PSU had coil whine so I bought this PSU like 1 month back it is Cooler Master Thunder 450 Watt Smps, mostly I don't think it is PSU issue 'cause even under full load I will never reach 400 Watt
@Just another stranger I have 2 fans 1 for inflow and 1 for outflow My temps are normal while in full load
@j3ster My temps are normal

Since your power supply is new, more than enough to power your components, and your temps are good; my guess is, It's that old 160gb HDD...and every time you do a hard shutdown you are making matters worse. Run a surface scan with HDDScan. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that's your culprit.

You could also try defraging the drive and turning off Windows Search Indexer (known to cause 100% spikes on some machines).
