I have recorded minecraft for almost 2 years with fraps and it has worked very well. Fraps always used to run at around 60fps when I was recording. All of the sudden now, fraps is jumping down to 10fps when recording. I am running at about 90-120 when not recording. I record all my videos on a separate USB that has a terabyte storage space, so the file size isn't my problem. I have literally looked everywhere for a solution and nothing has helped. I have uninstalled and reinstalled fraps multiple times. All my drivers are also fully updated. I don't understand what is going on. Does it have anything to do with me just installing Windows 10?

P.S. I have tried recording with a obs action and many other softwares and now for some reason they are lagging as well.

If you just "upgraded" to windows 10, that could be the cause. The upgrades don't play nice if you don't do a clean install (wiping out all your data on the HDD/partition (c: drive)) and starting with a fresh copy of windows. (this is because you have old incompatible software/drivers still around)

It could also be your hard drive you're recording to is getting full, and they do noticeably slow down when that happens.

Trace it back as far as you can to what you changed and when the problem started.
