Does this build look good?

Solution

Exactly.
If you plan to do more gaming, then go with Z170/6700k.
If you plan to do more editing, then go with X99/5820k (or 6800k if your budget allows).

Either way, wait until RX980 benchmarks are released. The RX480 will probably beat the GTX 970, for less money.

I think this setup would work good for you instead. It's silent, powerful and has plenty of storage.

Looks good except for the video card. You'd be better off with a GTX 1070 or RX480.

GraySilencer's build is a nice gaming rig, but 5820k is slightly better for video editing. 6700k is slightly better for gaming, so it depends on what you plan to do more (editing vs gaming).

Now I'm not a genius with computer parts and such but doesn't the Cpu slot not fit each other. Like sub is recommending a 5820k but it has a 2011 slot but the motherboard wouldn't match it if I'm correct

what hes trying to say is he could go for the Z170 chipset with the 6700K instead of the X99, if he is solely planning on just gaming. as it would perform better.
