my external hard drive 4tb (wd my book) will show on other computers but I cannot access it's content

I managed to remove the unlock part to open it directly on my computer.
But when I plug my external hard drive on other Pc's it will not allow me access to open it.

My Pc is crashing and everything I need is on this external hard drive... help :/

I'm not sure I follow what you are saying about "open it directly on my computer". Are you saying you took the drive out of the external enclosure?

If so you should know that the data will be encrypted by the USB to SATA bridge board, so accessing it directly SATA connected isn't an option.

I have the WD my book external hard drive. it was password protected . I managed to disable that. But when I plug and open the hard drive on other computers it will show the icon to it, but won't allow me to access its contents..

And how exactly did you "disable" the password? By doing secure reset? To be of any help we'll need an actual descriptive story of what exactly you did.

Hi thank you so much for taking the time to answer me
turns out I had to make my wd book available to everyone. so now I can open it when I plug it elsewhere.
shows I savvy I am with technology -_-
