High Performance Windows 10 risks?

I heard that High Performance power option increases performance. I have a Dell Latitude e6400 with windows 10 and I game on it. Nothing serious on the gaming but I was wondering will using this option help a little with gaming performance and overall performance ? Also I heard that this will increase more heat will it be better when I use my cooling pad? What other risks are there?

Yes it increases performance & creates more heat. Its still running within its normal specification so there should be no risk, think of it as driving a car fast instead of driving to save fuel.
