could you please recommend me a good system that is within my price budget. I am a uni student, starting this September. I program a lot, video edit a lot as well as light gaming.

In terms of overclocking, I don't mind if the CPU doesn't have the capability to over clock, however I would maybe in the future decide to go ahead and overlock.

I was also thinking about whether to get a MacBook Pro instead for the portable use and video editing capability. I'm stuck between a MacBook Pro or a gaming/video editing system. I rather not get the 27 inch 5k iMac as I don't think it's worth the price. I think purchasing a gaming rig would be much more powerful and also I'd save a couple of hundred pounds.

If you guys could recommend me a pc that is within £1200 and suits my needs, id really appreciate it cheers. Also, within the budget, I'd like the monitor to be included, preferably a 4K monitor maybe? As long as the monitor is crisp clear for video editing, that'll be fine. Oh and I'll be doing 4K editing here and there but mainly editing videos for YouTube at 720p-2440p.

If you want portability, you could always get an mATX build.

This is just a PC build btw. If you want a 4K monitor for gaming and editing you'll have to fork out quite a bit of money, plus the 970 won't run games very well at 4K. To save money you can reduce the amount of RAM to 16GB, reduce the SSD to 256GB, get a RX480 (when it drops) instead of a 970. Then you may have enough left for a decent monitor also
