I plan on buying an NZXT S340 because I need a simple PC case. This case isn't listed on pcpartpicker.com though, is there anyone able to tell me if this case is compatible with this part list. If not I am up for suggestions for other simple PC cases.

The 980ti is 400 bucks .
Nothing wrong with buying it since the gtx 1070 is always out of stock.
For the rest of your question their no place to mount the fan controller in that case, no need for the artic 5, get the 250gb version of the SSD it's only 20 bucks more for double the space, most people dont need a sound card.
Your also using older hardware i would rebuild with a i7 6700K.

It'll go together beautifully. But DON'T BUY THE 980Ti!!!

Why? The GTX 1080, that's why; it's performance is better than a even a Titan. Right now there's a supply issue, and that's why the prices on Amazon are so high. In a few weeks, they'll drop to the MSRP of $599 (Or $699 for the Founder's Edition). At the very least, buy a GTX 1070, which is close to a Titan.

Use this site to see where it's in stock: http://www.nowinstock.net/computers/videocards/nvidia/gtx1080/

Currently, here are the places it's in stock / pre-order at reasonable prices:

Also there's no need for the network adapter; the motherboard has Gigabit Ethernet built in.
