My computer is an hp pavilion p7 1240 http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c03353576

specs :

AMD A-10 5700 APU
10 GB RAM DDR3
AMD RADEON 7660D 512MB DDR3
MSI-7778 (JASMINE)
1 TB HDD 7200 SATA
300W PSU

I'd like to stream games on high quality, would I be better off buying new parts for my PC now, or saving up for a new computer, I don't really have a budget right now because I'd just buy parts bi-weekly because that's how I get paid. Thanks for viewing and helping. <3

Solution
Easily between $1k-$2k. Much of that depends on games you want to stream, and what resolution you intend to play, graphics quality settings, and how serious you want to do this. This would be about where I would start. RX 480 comes out tomorrow, and if performance claims are true, it will be the card to get, on the lower end of the price range. Claims are R9 390/GTX 970 like performance.

Memory: G.Skill Aegis 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($58.98 @ Newegg)...

This one can overclock, and has a much better GPU, for handling more demanding titles. It is also SLI capable, so you could add another graphics card, if needed.

This is the next step up. 6 core CPU, for handling multiple threads. SLI capable, with fastest single GPU, that you can buy. Upped the storage too. This would be the most serious, single card build, that I would recommend. The 8 core CPU is simply just too expensive.

Now, you could mix and match some of these components, if you wish. PCpartpicker has a compatibility checker to help avoid you getting an incompatible part.

I am doing the same thing, upgrading an old PC, an hp pavilion from 08 :p
If i were you I would get an i5 or i7 CPU if you have the money, I would get 8gb of ram, I like GeForce so I would get lowest GPU would be a 950, do some research and see what you might want. You will have to choose a motherboard that would work for you. I would get another power supply min 500w. Keep the hed and optical drive. I would get 2 monitors, you'll probably want a camera and mic. If you wish to save a bit of money mabe see if your old case might fit the parts you picked. And get a CPU cooler if you plan to overclock. Here is what I might have gotten http://pcpartpicker.com/list/9ykFtJ

I am happy to help you pick out parts. All I need to know is what colour you would like, what games you playing, and your budget
