It powers for about half a second and then dies on me, but the first time i tried to jump the psu it didnt power but after taking out the cables and plugging them back in to the power suplly it did power up when jumped with the paperclip, so the psu is fine then? Im going to test the cpu in my friends pc at some point and if it boots fine it will be he motherboard?

May I ask what the brand of the Psu is you have and it`s wattage.

Have you tried the set procedure, to clear any circuit protection of the Psu you have ?
Azbo.

There is a set process that you need to do if one of the protection circuits has triggered on the Psu such as a power surge, or over tempreture of the Psu unit ect.

If you do not follow it every time you try to power the PSU up it will shut down or cut one of the power rails the Psu provides the motherboard.

State the bran name of the Psu and the model number of it plus the total amount of watts it can output Azbo.

I already stated what kind of psu it is, its a evga supernova g1 750w, ive already tested the psu it powers fine with a paperclip test so im ruling that out, the motherboard seems like the problem to me but will find out soon
