Cant seem to figure out how to swap hard drives

If the new drive is blank you need to install an os. If it has an os that was running on the old system you will need to reinstall the os as moving an os from one system to another rarely works out.

If a second drive is present when you initially install windows, a hidden recovery partition will be placed on the second drive.
You can no longer boot without that second drive installed.
You likely need to reformat your hard drive to do a clean os install on the new pc..
Take this as an opportunity to convert to a ssd for the "C" drive. You will not regret it.
