i am planing on upgrading my motherboard and cpu from a core 2 quad q9550 with a asus p5p41t-le to a i5-2500k i haven't picked the motherboard just yet and was wondering if socket lga1155 supported high density ram cause i have some laying around and i would like to use it and if its only supported on certain chip sets pls let me know witch ones

Yes, the 1155s were the first really designed to use the high density DDR3 memory ICs (chips, the earlier were based on low density ICs in the early DDR3 like the 1156, 1366 and even earlier 775 hybrid mobos
