I have a 980Ti and i7 6700, I thought the GPU and CPU are the only things that matter when it comes to performance, so I paid zero attention to Ram and mobo. I have an unknown brand of 16 GB DDR4 2133MHz RAM, and a HP thimphu motherboard.
But I'm getting absolute crap performance @ 1080P in many games on highest settings. 40-50s FPS in GTA 5 with enbs and reshade, 30-40s in Arma 3, 50s in Witcher 3 with graphics mods, 40-50s in Fallout 4 with graphics mod and enbs. Basically for all games, I just get significantly worse FPS compared to people with 980, and maybe half of what others get with 980Ti. There are people who get better FPS in the same game @ 1440P or even 4K...
So the only suspects are mobo and Ram, since the GPU and CPU both work and have normal temperature.
Can anyone confirm that either or both of them can in fact destroy performance? If so I will buy new ones and replace, but I want to be absolutely sure before investing the money and efforts.
Really appreciate all help!
