Hello my friend has 2 gtx 760s with only one in use at the current time he wants to get a new case and motherboard and is thinking about using his 760s in sli do you think that's a good idea?

then theres no reason not to at least give it a go if he's gotta buy a new board anyway.
but along with the new windows he may need a new psu aswell as prebuilt systems tend to come with barely enough psu spec wise to run the system it ships in.

good luck.
if your gonna buy a new board just to sli then no. as you will have to get a new windows key aswell.

if hes buying the board because he needs to, he will still likely have to buy a new windows key but at least he wont be wasting his money just to sli to medium power cards to gain a very medium performance bump.

he would need to get a new motherboard either way because he has an Alienware x51.
