Hello there guys I have a few questions so I really want to upgrade my gpu since it's really old and I want to play the recent games and I would like to know if the rest of my components will work and not choke with the new gpu.
Since I don't have the budget now to build a new pc the only thing I can afford now is a gpu and I was thinking of 960 OC Windforce or 970 G1 Gaming (also I would like to know if the 1070 can work in my system)

So this is my current build
MSI Z68S-G43
Intel i5-2500 Sandy Bridge
MSI GTX 550Ti
Hyper X Fury 16GB DDR3

1. Does the 960/970 work with my pc?
2. Will it run the new games in full hd 60fps?
3. If in the future i want to upgrade to 1070 or rx480 will it work?

Thanks!

for best gaming and budget graphics card that can run any game over 50 fps you have to buy the msi gaming gtx 970 4gb

and sure upgrading your graphic card to 960 or 970 worth it

depends on the game, the gtx 970 can run most games 1080p 60 fps high+ settings

also you did not list your power supply make and model

before we can recommend a gpu we need to know that

I'm sorry but that's utter rubbish. All 970's are basically the same, the only differences are cooling and base overclock, combined these might swing performance by 5% probably less.

I checked the power supply because i didn't know the model it's a Link Creative MT00008-60137-650W

I've been around the block a bit, and I've never heard of that brand, this is normally a very very bad sign. I'd be budgeting for a PSU swap too.

1.That Corsair model is bad?
2. What about Corsair RMx Series RM650x 650W, 80+ Gold ?
3. Or Seasonic G Series 650W ?

you dont need 650w

get a good 500W - 550w

something from seasonic, antec HCG is good, xfx TS, evga GS, G2, P2 models

this list can help:

get something from tier 1 or 2:

Definitely. You can get a semi modular 550 w power supply by corsair and pair it with a gtx 970 or a 1070 which is more future proof and can plainly outperform the 970.
