Okay I'm having this problem I've never had before. During sleep mode, my CPU fans will start to make this super loud noise. I've had these fans for months and have not had this problem. If I exit sleep mode or restart the computer the noise goes away.

The package temperature of the CPU is 36C at idle; so the CPU is not overheating.

What's the cause of this sudden random fan noise during sleep mode?

Not being able to hear the "super loud noise" it's hard to tell exactly what's causing it. It could be that the fan is simply speeding up, or it could be that the bearings are going bad. In either case, replacing the fan(s) should solve the problem. Fans are cheap!

What noise? Like its spinning faster to cool down? Is it clicking? Dinging? Singing Happy Birthday?

Fans go out over time. They have moving parts and have a 100% fail rate over a long enough period. If its making a clicking sound its just time to replace the fan.

I wouldn't describe it as a clicking sound. I would describe as more of a higher-pitched noise. The sound is loud enough it can be heard if a fan is on in the room.

Could it be a dust issue? If so I could try cleaning out the case.

I dont think it would be a dust issue. higher pitched noise? You sure its a fan? I would order a new fan and replace.

What motherboard, CPU and CPU cooler? Do you have a motherboard with a dehumidifier function that wakes up the PC while it's in sleep mode to keep it dry?

Yep, I'm sure it's the fan. It's a loud noise, but still sounds like a fan spinning.

I have an ASROCK H61m-DGS motherboard, an i5 3570k CPU and a Hyper 212 cooler. The mobo has no humidifier function.

Strangely the problem goes away when I restart the computer.
