Hi all, had this problem for a while now and am really struggling to find a fix for it. I can browse the internet or watch videos/films all day long on my pc fine no problem. BUT when i decide to play a game, maybe an hour in or even a couple minutes in my pc will completely shutdown. The games i play vary from demanding to pretty basic.

SPECS: GPU- GeForce GTX 970
CPU- AMD FX 8350
PSU- CX750
Memory - 4gb RAM
Windows 10

Thank you for your time and hope i can get this fixed.

PS I have ran temperature programmes and my temps are fine.

I suffered the same issue a while back, seems the plug that draws power from the wall to my extension lead and regulator had been damaged by one of my bed's legs, got to the point where I could switch my PC off from the other side of the room just by nudging my bed towards the wall lol.

Things you might want to look into:

Power chord leading to your PSU (that you plug into the PC to supply power)
Any components that are between your PSU and the wall.
PSU itself
Check CPU/GPU temperatures when gaming, if the GPU goes above 90 and the CPU goes above 100 it's possible you may have a fault and your PC is switching itself off to save your hardware.

Hope that helps

All temps when gaming are no where near 90 or 100.
Checked sockets and the components and they all seem to be fine, move my computer to other sockets in the house and still encounter the shutdown only when i am in game.

Frustrating as hell haha
