sfc.exe (system file checker) checks microsoft core files for corruption by comparing your current copy to the hidden copy on your machine. iaStorA.sys that you have is a intel driver and may not get checked or updated by microsoft.
Your motherboard manufacture expects you got go to their motherboard website and get the updates from them. Microsoft will not have the updates.
you should go to the intel website to get a new verion of iastorea.sys (they are update very often)
Also, bugchecks in the storage driver do not always mean that it has a bug, often malware tries to infect the windows storages subsystem.
if you have winodows 8.x and above you may want to run cmd.exe as an admin then run
dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
this will check for corruption by checking with the microsoft update server rather than your local hidden copy of the files.
(malware finds and modifies the local hidden copy anyway, making the sfc.exe command not very useful)
- you should download and run crystaldiskinfo.exe to read your smart error data from your hard drive, it will give you an idea if the drive is producing errors.
- you should download and run the free version of malwarebytes to do a scan.
(no need to do the trial)
Ivan_17 :
I got this error/ crash a few months ago and it went away after installing the intel rapid storage driver. but after buying and installing some new games on steam and origin it has been crashing every 1-3 hours again. SFC says everything is a- ok so im quite confused and very frustrated, i did also run chkdsk a week ago when i started and it said all was okay. should i run both again? what else can i do? should i test my ram or HDD with some program? also could this have anything to do with my hardware policy driver?
i just ran the system mem check, says everything is fine. the crashes occur while gaming.
