Hello everyone. First post here even though I read almost every new post in Toms :)

I decided to build a new pc system and I was waiting for RX 480 to show up before I start ordering. Now my problem is that here in Greece prices are high. Very high. One example is that the new 480 costs about 360€ in one of the biggest electronic shops here. So I would like your help to build from another eshop here in EU. I heard mindfactory is a good place to start.

Now to our topic:

Approximate Purchase Date: one-two weeks from now

Budget Range: 600-650€

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, surfing the internet, watching movies etc

Are you buying a monitor: No

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Anything from EU to avoid custom duties.

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe probably not

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 (wont upgrade it for next 2 years at least)

Additional Comments: I would like a more future proof rig that can play almost all games for at least the next 3-4 years if possible so I was leaning to a skylake i5 and rx 480 but it seems that wont be possible. Also in this rig I would like an ssd if possible.

Thank you very much :)

Thanks for answering but in these prices you dont include Vga, psu and a case. Why is that? Or am i doing something wrong?

Something like this would work nicely. I know you've stated that you wanted the RX 480 but if you're only gaming at 1080p the GTX 970 pretty much performs the same and is 60 Euros cheaper. I wouldn't touch an RX 480 personally until the third-party models come out and they sort out the excessive power draw through the motherboard PCI-E slot.

Aaaaand now I can't find pricing data for the RX 480 on PCPartpicker but it appears to be 294 Euros for the 8Gb version and the 4Gb seems to be sold out on Amazon and it's 269 Euros on Mindfactory.de

Thank you very much but why 970? 480 with 8gb is only 30€ more at mindfactory. Well should i wait for 1060 benchmarks and decide after that? Cause at that time i want to believe that prices will stabilize and third parties will have their own 480 cards. I only ask now because i read today that 1060 will be announced at 7th July. If that's true i should probably wait a little more :)

Thanks again

I think you should wait too. Wait and see what the third party RX 480 cards are like, particularly around power draw from the PCIE slot and wait for the GTX 1060.

My recommendation of the GTX 970 is based on what is available right now in case you were dying for a new build immediately!

If you can wait a few weeks I would.

Well I was waiting for 2 months. Whats two or three more weeks? Thanks again.

Now just a small add. Wont i3 be a problem for some games especially ones which perform better with more cores? (like total war?)

Thinking about it a bit more....if you didn't go for the newest generation of processor and went for a lower-spec motherboard then you could just about squeeze an i5 into the budget.

In my opinion I'd rather have a Haswell i5 over a Skylake i3 for a budget build.

Again, the GTX 970 is just a placeholder for a 1060 or 480 but I'm sure the price will be similar.

EDIT: That Gigabyte motherboard has terrible reviews! These seem better http://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/yb7wrH/gigabyte-motherboard-gab85mhd3 or http://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/2TXfrH/asus-motherboard-h81mplus
