Hello
I'm in a dilemma, the 980Ti is going for 470$ and the 1070 is going for 550$. is it worth spending almost 100$ more for the 1070 when there isn't a whole lot of difference in performance in my opinion?

What do you guys think, and what would you guys go with?

I'm playing on a monitor with a 1080p display.

Solution
Both cards can easily and obviously handle 1080p gaming flawlessly.
As a matter of personal opinion I would go for a 1070 due to new technology mostly,dx12, more vram for modern titles and it being slightly faster than 980ti in some instances.
I would also wait for a non reference version for sure. Something from Asus,Msi or Palit since her work on super jetstream models is more than worth mentioning.

u can get a fe 1070 for 450, why go with 980ti when ur getting more performance for cheaper, another thing u could do is get an rx 480 for half the price, and a 1440p monitor to go with it, b/c the rx480 is coming out tomarrow

the fe isnt worth it, the trade off of hotter for quiet performance isnt worth it in my opinion, go to pcpartpicker and find the chapest 1070 u can get, ive found a gigabyte g1 triple fan 1070 for 420$ us, also look on multiple sites and noth just one

There really isn't much to talk about when it comes to FE's, Nvidia's just hiking the prices of their reference cards in hopes that nvidiafans will buy it.

AIBP coolers are usually equal if not better in most cases anyway.

A good 980ti OCed will beat a 1070 OCed hands down, Get a Cheap MSI 980ti Lighning LE, Zotac 980ti Extreme or a Gigabyte 980ti Extreme and non of the aftermarket 1070 will beat your Fps. Nvidia placed the 980ti between the 1070 and 1080 in price/performance. My Zotac hits 1530mhz cor and 8020 mem on air and there is still room for more OC all this @44-45c @50% fan speed. Not a single 1070 can beat that.

Non reference cards are already available. I have the FE in mine, and an MSI GTX 1070 Armor G8 in my son's.
