I want to max out the ram on my M90Z. Processor is G6960 i7. windows 7-pro 64bit. Factory said 4gb when it was new, I have 8gb in it now. Would like to go to 16 or 32, But wanted to know it would work before I invested in a new kit. I always try to use matched pairs in all my equipment. Thanks for any help or suggestions...D...

Thanks for the input maiutech. I had searched Crucial, corsair, Kingston, patriot, G skill and others for info. I also have a t410, t410s and a W510 that I also checked the max ram on in the past. They say the 410s will only support 8gb but I have 16 in it. The W510 they say max is 16, It has 4 ram slots and I currently I have matched pair of G-skill 4gb and a matched pair of Patriot 8gb giving a total of 24gb. I did not clock (do not know how) or do anything else but make sure the speed was the same and plug them in. That is why I am trying to see if anyone knows about tweaking these out other than reading support and standard upgrades.

You are partially correct but they are unspecified about how much ram it'll take.

They say here is up to 10gb of ram, to be on the safe side stay with 8gb of ram until you call lenovo and verify the max memory support for the system.

Thanks again. That is some more of my confusion. To get to 10 you would need a 2gb and an 8gb stick. If the slot will support an 8gb stick then the other slot should support 8 also. There only 2 slots. All the ram I know about are double increments 1 2 4 8 16 and so on I have never heard of a 5gb sodimm stick. I hope this will be the right way to reply. Thanks again...

Honestly if thing supports 10gigs of ram, I would just go by amazon.com or newegg.com pick up one 8gb of ddr3 1600mhz and be done with it.
Put in the memory stick in slot 1 and boot it, if it works leave well enough alone and use the system.
Besides that I used windows 7 64bit and it isn't as taxing on the memory and storage needs as windows 8 and windows 10 is now.

Thanks for helping. I am running 8 (2x4) now. I ordered another 16gb kit of Patriot for my W510 laptop so all 4 sticks will be the same. I am going to just go ahead and stick them in the M90z before I take the w510 apart. I will let you know if and how it works. If so I will order another pair for the M90. Thanks again for looking into and helping me with this...D...
