Hey, first time posting on a forum like this so sorry if anything is wrong or if I posted this in the wrong place :/

This is my current Build (from 2012 I think), I'm looking to upgrade Motherboard, CPU, GPU, Ram and anything else if you recommend it.
OS: Windows 10 Pro
Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V LE PLUS
CPU: i7 3770k 3.5ghz
CPU Cooler Corsair H60
GPU: EVGA GTX 670 stock
PSU: Corsair TX750 80+ Bronze - 85% Efficiency
RAM: 8GB (link provided)
Case: Cooler Master HAF X

So far these are the upgrades I have in mind, looking to game at high-ultra on 1080p (I plan to upgrade my cheap monitor in August to play 1440p on high if possible.)
Using the most expensive posted below the current price is $1183 Aud, less would be better if it still runs fast

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 3
CPU: Intel Core i5 6600K Quad Core 3.5GHz Unlocked
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 Windforce OC 4GB
or Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 G1 Gaming 4GB
RAM: Corsair 16GB (2 x8GB) CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 DDR4 3000MHz VengeanceLPX
or G.Skill 16G (2x8G) F4-3200C16D-16GVKB PC4-25600 / DDR4 3200 Mhz
Other Ram I looked at today were:
Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) CMK16GX4M2A2400C14 DDR4 2400MHz Vengeance LPX
Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) CMK16GX4M2A2133C13R DDR4 2133MHz Vengeance LPX

I'm definitely upgrading to the 970 and i5 6670k but I'm not sure about the RAM and if it's overkill, any recommendation for cheaper Motherboard?, also will the Corsair H60 be enough to keep a i5 6670k cool or should I get something with a 240 mm radiator?

I live in Australia and here's where I will be buying everything atm, only 45 minute drive to pick up in-store after I order.

You have an overclockable CPU and MB.
You don't need to upgrade them. Here is the link to the comparison of 5 gens on i7 in modern gaming.

Just overclock to 4-4.5GHz -> there is no practical improvement in upgrading them right now.
The only things you can/should upgrade is add more ram (16GB) and get GTX 1070/1080. You will even have some change for the monitor.
For the maxed out 1440p gaming with 120-140hz monitor, i'd go for GTX 1080. It fits your budget now ;)
BTW, overclocking the ram to 2100 is also easy and will provide some benefit.

Cool thanks for the information, if you could point me in the directions of a good overclocking guide for my CPU and MB that would be great, if not I'll look around at some tomorrow.

there are few ways to do it.
Simple one is AI utility from asus. it will do ~4.0GHz
manual overclocking is a bit more complicated as it involves some few things.
Don't do it unless you see that your game performance is starting to get bottlenecked by CPU.
There are plenty of guides for your MB / CPU. Take it as a self educating project. Like understanding voltages and other things.
Basically, from AI utility or bios, increase the multiplier. At some point you will need to increase core voltage.
Keep the eye on temperatures while doing so.

Just finished the first video you linked and I would never have guessed my 3770k could still hold it's own like that, thanks again glad I came on here to ask before buying.

Hi again just thought I'd reply back with how things went and ask another question, overclocked the 3770k to a stable 4.6ghz and put the ram up too 2133mhz.
Planning on buying a Gigabyte GTX 1070 Xtreme Gaming if it's available by the I've saved enough, other wise I'll get the G1 Gaming.

My question is instead of buying a new set of 16gb's of ram, could I not just buy the same 8gb ram that I currently have? G SKill 8G(2x4G)DDR3 2133Mhz PC3-17000(F3-17000CL11D-8GBXL)
As far as I can tell it should be fine and save me a bit of money doing so, though not sure if it'd be better buying a new set cause I've had these 8 since 2012.

different memory modules may or may not to work together.
There is a very long technical explanation behind it.
In most cases they will work together out of the box.
In some cases you will have to go to bios and manually define profile that will be suitable for all of them and they will work.
In some cases they will refuse to work together.
So what I'd do, is get the 2x8 kit and try to achieve 24GB. Worst case, it will be 16.
