acer aspire laptop suddenly stops working... windows won't open.. so i tried to format using win 7 bootable dvd and bootable usb too... but both wont work.... so i came to the conclusion that my hdd got broken somehow.. so i bought a hdd case to check for the error in hdd through another pc... when i did that chkdsk would say there is no problem in the hdd and i can copy files in that hdd tooo.. guys please help needed.. and yes the bootable usb and dvd is working fine in other computers....

This sounds pretty unfortunate! Have you tried using a different HDD in your laptop and see how it would get recognized? I'd also advise you to boot into BIOS and check your settings. Maybe doing a BIOS reset would help. If not, I'd advise you to check your laptop manufacturer's official website for any BIOS version updates and also make sure you have the latest SATA controller & chipset drivers manually installed from there as well.

i found out that my hdd had some problems... so i bought a new hdd 500 gb hdd today.. i tried to install windows 7 through bootable usb... during the process i created 3 partition and when i tried to format the first partition, the formatting process seemed to hang.... so i shutdown my laptop through power button... ever since now i am not being able to install windows in that new hard disk too.... i am suspecting that is it only my hard disk or some other device has failed too which is causing this problem,,,,,,,,,
