New build, uneasy about temps

So I have two builds using the same case
1:http://pcpartpicker.com/list/nKkyf8
2:http://pcpartpicker.com/list/6dxCyf

When I was using #1, I never felt heat emanating from the case. The inside was relatively cool and I could touch my GPU (EVGA960) without feeling pain

I noticed with #2, the inside felt hot and i could feel warmth on top of my case minutes after it started up. My fresh out the package GPU (EVGA950) also was too hot to leave my fingers on it. CPU temps were about 60 degrees Celsius and my 950 was about 47 degrees idle. My 960 was about 33 degrees idle.

I'm probably overthinking it but the heat from #2 concerned me since I never felt anything from #1. 1x intake in the front and 1x outtake in the back; I cant add more because the case won't support it. I wanted to know if the heat was normal and why #2 was so much hotter than #1

Thanks in advance

You either didn't install the cpu cooler right on build two or your boards auto voltage is making the cpu run too hot. Id lean towards bad cooler installation. 60c idle means it'll throttle under moderate load since the max temp of those chips isnt much above that

All that I can think is that because the processor is AMD instead of Intel, there is more residual heat but I wouldn't have expected to see that much of a difference. When I had a FX-4300 with the stock cooler I noticed that it idled at around 40-45 degrees Celsius even with a few intake and exhaust fans.

Some people would be surprised at how much of a difference an aftermarket CPU cooler can make, even to other components as well. As long as the temperatures don't get up to around 80 degrees for the CPU and 90 for GPU you should be fine. I would suggest maybe a different CPU cooler such as the same one on your other build.

I hope this helps and you have no future problems with the build.
