How can i choose my SSD as a boot drive?

So i have a PC with ONLY 1 TB HDD . I want to buy a SSD and make it as a booting drive and use the HDD as a secondary storage drive. Can someone help me: how i can do that?

Motherboard: GIGABYTE ga 970a ds3

The SSDs i plan to buy: Samsung 850 EVO Series 250GB OR Kingston SSDNow UV400 240 GB
Which should i choose?

Hi there barisalpek,

You need to take the HDD out of the system, attach the SSD, boot from OS CD(go to BIOS and adjust the boot order so your system can boot from the CD), perform the installation.
After that you can attach your HDD, get all the data that you need and reformat the HDD. (in order to get rid of the OS files)
There are quite a lot of tutorials on how to install OS on the internet.

If you don't have much data stored on the HDD, you can consider cloning as well. This would create a copy of your system and put it on the SSD. That way there would be no need to perform clean OS install.
