Hi,

I got this Android tablet from a family member who got a new one. The tablet was infected with a virus which my family member already warned me about. Whenever I opened an app, it showed a message that the tablet was locked and that I needed to pay some ransom :pt1cable:. Naturally, I didn't take any risks and did a factory reset from the tablet menu. After that, the tablet seemed clean and it was working properly but than I tried some free Antivirus scanners from the play store and the Avira one found SimpLocker. I assume Avira found some inactive traces/files on the storage and no active processes but to be a 100% sure, I did a low level firmware flash with the chipsets manufacturer flash tool and a clean stock rom. After that, I rescanned the device and none of the antivirus apps found anything.

My question for you guys is, can I be sure the tablet is 100% free of viruses now? I want to login to my (company) mail, my Youtube account and some other stuff but I'm a bit hesitant since I'm still a bit afraid that there are some traces of the virus somewhere and that my account info gets stolen.

Thanks in advance.
