Is my GPU Overheating?

When I play GW 2, my monitor crashes for a second and then starts working normally. I downloaded GPU-Z and saw that when the crash happened, the "PerfCap Reason" was set to "Thrm". That means my GPU is overhearing, right? At that time, the GPU was at 80 C and the fan speed at 69%. What can I do to fix this? it's the first time that happens to me.

UPDATE: After trying Robert's solution, my GPU doesn't crash. I also changed the side of my side fan. Accidentally, I had him venting the air outwards and that contributed a little to the issue (I think). I will keep you updated if anything else happens.

My GPU is GTX 770. Ok. I downloaded MSI Afterburner and bumped the fan speed to 100%. I will head back to GW 2, play for a while, open GPU-Z and see if the "PerfCap Reason" hits "Thrm" again.

80C doesn't seem like overheat, try to monitor the temps with HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner and check what is the hottest it gets, the fan shouldn't be at 100 to work properly, it can be the thermal paste in the heat sinks.

I mean that i'm not entirely sure about which cord you are talking about. Also, given that i'm still a beginner at dealing with hardware (I built my PC following youtube tutorials only), I still have my questions and worries about all these. Hope you understand :)

I haven't mentioned any cord, only thing I've said is that your temps are pretty fine (between 69-71C). If the machine is booting under those temps the GPU or the PSU is failing.

What is your PSU make and model?

That's a pretty decent PSU and should handle the load without troubles, my bet is that the GPU is failing, is there any way you can test the card in another machine or test another card in YOUR machine?

My bad, I misunderstood that the GPU was 4 years old, there was no way to be that old anyway haha sorry.

Consider doing the test I suggested by switching the GPU, like I told you above my best is the GPU or PSU, the synthoms point to those elements.
