GPU wont fit...

So i bought the r9 390 gaming and it wont fit in the slot because the ram slots are too high and block the gpu backplate could i use the bottom second pci lane? but the problem is that its 2.0....

as long as its an x16 slot it will be fine. just go into bios and set the pci-e to peg-2

theres very little performance drop between pci-e3 and pci-2 maybe 1-2% at most. so maybe 1- fps loss

on the msi it says this Gen3 (16), Gen2 (4) is the second less much slower?

Not like you have any other options aside from removing the back plate or changing the mobo.

what motherboard do you have? I had an issue once before when a backplate was hitting the ram release tabs. I just grabbed a file and sanded down the tab so the card would fit.

loosely put your card in place and see how much it covers the release tabs on the ram slots. You might be able to shave the release tab down enough to slide the card in place.

It actually worked but the ram clips seem to be forced to stay that way lets hope they dont bend or anythin

You can leave the bottom ram clips locked and just release the top ones if you ever have to pull the ram out.
