Hello guys, I'd appreciate some help regarding my brother's PC

He's bought a pre-built computer, and it has this motherboard: ECS H81H3-M7 ( http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product/Product_Detail.aspx?DetailID=1511&CategoryID=1&DetailName=Feature&MenuID=228&LanID=0 )

Now, we're planning on upgrading the graphics card(adding one, in fact) but we're worried whether it'll fit. The mobo on the personal site has a list of "supported GPUs" I guess, most of which are outdated. I was planning on an r7 370 or something along those lines, but not sure would it be supported due to the list, and due to the fact it takes up 2 slots instead of 1(as do the most of those better graphics cards).

I'd appreciate any clarification on the issue, and if 2 slot graphics cards wouldn't be supported, would 1 slot graphics cards be okay? Such as r5 250 or r5 240?
Thnx in advance

Solution
When you want to upgrade the GPU in the pre-build PC, you need to 1) check the PSU, usually the PC came with low wattage PSU, like 300W or 350W, you want to make sure the PSU can handle the new GPU.
PSU requirements for GPU http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm but sometime the wattage does not tell you the ture, you need the good brand PSU, like seasonic, XFX, some of the antec, evga, etc. 2) check the case space for the new GPU, not the MB, because as long as the MB has one pcie slot, the newer version GPU will fit, but if the case does not have enough space, the GPU will not fit into it. Make the measurement and check the GPU dimension, length ( most of them are 9" to 10" ) or height too. If the PC is the SFF...

Hey, thanks for the fast help. I've already checked the PSU, and so far, it SEEMS to be okayish. He's got this one http://www.winwin.rs/napajanje-420w-lc-power-lc420h-12-v1-3-1131728.html, which is kinda worrying, but I did calculate the Wattage while overexaggerating certain components of my PC as to calculate the max value possible, and got this outcome: http://prnt.sc/bn4bdg .

Thanks for the clarification, the width of the case is 18 cm, while the card is 21.4 x 12.5 x4.2 Centimeter. Assuming the length is 21, the height 4, and the width 13 + lets say 5 cm max that the motherboard and the slot could take, they add up to a little bit less than 18 cm, which means that it fits?

Appreciate the help :D

Check that PSU to see what Amp on the +12V rail, because the r7 370 needs 17Amp on the +12V.
And the card is 21.4cm, so the space should be more than the 21.4cm. If the space is less then 21.4cm, or whatever you said < 18cm. The r7 370 will not fit into the case.

Hey, we just bought the card and it fits, I might've phrased myself a bit wrongly up there, but it fits. Now, the thing is, on 12V, my PSU has 15 Amp, however on the official site of my graphics card( https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/STRIXR7370DC2OC4GD5GAMING/specifications/ ) I don't see the 17 AMP requirement anywhere? Are you sure about this? Thnx for help
btw link of my PSU in English: http://www.lc-power.com/index.php?id=183&L=1

Hey I installed the gfx on that office PSU, and it's working brilliantly. So far no crashes, smooth performance, and absolutely no hassle anywhere(except minecraft, which is kinda glitching with white bars and buttons disappearing and appearing randomly). Tested some games and both DirectX and OpenGL work flawlessly without a windows reinstallation, so I guess we'll see how far it goes without something exploding :D
Thnx for help, <3 from my brother
