GPU needs 8 pin, only have 6 pin

I have this PSU http://www.frys.com/product/5997094?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
And it seems that my gpu is not getting enough power from the 6 pin PCIe. My GPU is the GTX 950 FTW ACX 2.0. I'm wondering if I could use an adapter like this? http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=N82E16812200420
When I try and boot with only the 6 pin attached I get the message, "Please power down and connect the PCIe power cables for this graphics card"
Something wrong that I'm not aware of? Other than the sh!t psu?

the message you are recieving means that the gpu isn't getting enough power. There are many adapters to fix this. The one you included is not recommended. it will still work tho.
However i would recommend getting a 2 6pin to 8 pin adapter like this one: https://www.amazon.com/8-Pin-Dual-6/dp/B00M49SELW/ref=pd_sim_147_7?ie=UTF8&dpID=31Zl92fPY8L&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR140%2C160_&psc=1&refRID=KFN2QACK7D56CMZ101J2
and then buying an adapter like this one : https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-6-Inch-Express-Adapter-LP4PCIEXADAP/dp/B0007RXDDM/ref=pd_bxgy_147_img_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=FWA7XRSMZEYZMHDD1218
and then connect everything accordingly.
I have almost the same setup and it worked perfectly.

+1 I agree

a 6pin only provides 75 watts and a 8 pin is 150 watts. you don't want to use a simple 6 pin to 8 pin adapter as it could try to draw 150watts though a connector designed for 75 watts, bad things can happen, so you really want to go with husseo19 recommendations

it comes to this the 950 if such a low power consuming card that if your psu cant support it you NEED to get a new psu

I am now aware how awful this PSU is and the fact that the product description says 1 x 8 pin included when theres no cable. Lol. I got it at Fry's Electronics. What do you say I do with the old one?
