If you are looking to upgrade to a gtx960, you might as well go with the new Radeon RX 480 4Gb for $200. The RX480 beats a GTX970 in most games. Your current power supply will be more than enough.
I heard that the 480 is consuming more watts than it should be and can fry yout mobo and would you reccomend the 4gb or 8hb
were did you hear that?
and for 4gb or 8gb what resolution do you game at?
i am currently gaming at 1080p but would like it to support 1440p as i may get a new monitor in the future and i heard it hear, https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/4qfwd4/rx480_fails_pcie_specification/
a 970 is the lowest id go for 1440p and even that wont give max settings
at 1070 is the best gpu for 1440p right now for max 60fps
i don't need it to max out all settings and i would like to get the rx 480 because of it's price i don't mind upgrading again in the future for a better card if it won't be able to do 1440p as i would have to upgrade my cpu as well but the claims about it being able to fry our mobo do you think it is true?
there is a large number of factors that could cause that i have not heard about that but the preson who claims this could have a bad motherboard, a bad psu, a faulty gpu, done a stupid overclock, turned of cooling or done 1000 other stupid things
and for 1440p i would say get a 8gb to be safe and it will run 1440p smoothly at medium settings around 40fps is my guess
